The Family Support Center's (FSC) LifeStart Village is an innovative program that aims to empower single parents and their children to achieve self-sufficiency and independence. Through FSC's transitional housing, LifeStart Village, families who were previously experiencing homelessness or near-homelessness can find a safe and stable home, and learn the skills they need to create a nurturing environment for themselves and their children.

In Phase I, which is structured like a dorm, single parents receive guidance from a full-time director and undergo Life Focus training, parent education, financial budgeting education, and receive assistance in completing their GED and finding and maintaining employment. Upon completing Phase I, parents can graduate to Phase II, where they can enjoy a self-sufficient rental townhome or cottage.

Recently, one of the units in Phase I was in need of some updates, and we were grateful to have Woodside Homes step in to remodel the unit. Through their collaboration with Tanner Glass & Hardware, PPG, Interior Logic Group, Inc, and Lowes, Woodside Homes completed the renovation with exceptional results. We are deeply grateful for their contribution to the LifeStart Village community, and their commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of single parents and their children.
