Food & Care Coalition (FACC) in Provo, Utah is home to a variety of services for individuals experiencing homelessness. Not only are there 38 short-term housing units on site, but also dining services, a medical clinic, a dental clinic, substance abuse treatment, counseling, mail delivery, a computer lab and many other essential services. At the time of inception the concept of clustering many services under one roof was somewhat unique but has quickly proven a successful model for other providers of homeless services throughout Utah.

Unfortunately, the options for folks who have utilized the services at FACC and are back on their way to self sufficiency have very limited options for the next step. Housing costs and rents are growing less affordable by the day. The result is a bottleneck creating limitations on people being able to leave FACC without falling back into homelessness.

Fortunately, the FACC sits on a beautiful parcel of land in Utah County with room to grow. VanCon Inc partnered up with FACC and HomeAid Utah to build a new 72 unit permanent supportive housing complex behind the current facility. This will provide an opportunity for individuals to move onto the next step of self sufficiency and thereby open up additional space in the current facility to serve more people in need.

A groundbreaking ceremony took place on October 15, 2020 and the official ribbon cutting took place on June 29, 2022. This nearly 2 year project was put together thoughtfully to provide a safe and dignified home for those in need of permanent supportive housing. HomeAid Utah was able to contribute nearly a million dollars to the overall value of the project with the help of many generous supporters within the construction industry and Utah community!
